The recent rain caused problems all around Fort Collins including the High Park Fire burn area. Volunteers are working hard to restore the land so future rain, and even snow, doesn’t cause further damage. The areas they are concentrated on are hills with downed trees and the high risk for mud slides. Wildlands Restoration Volunteers have been working to protect areas by building contour log terraces and covering the mud with mulch. If you’re interested in volunteering you can go to www.wlrv.org/ for the next volunteer dates.
