The Colorado State University Marching Band is heading to Dublin, Ireland to march in the St. Patrick’s Day parade in 2013. The 300-member band is sending 225 students to march in the parade. It’s the first time in its 110 year history that the marching band will travel abroad, according to senior drum major Luke Contreras. Dr. Richard Frey, the director of the marching band, is glad that CSU’s marching band is being put on the international stage. It is one of four university bands that will be representing the United States in the parade. The others include Purdue University, The University of Louisiana-Monroe, and University of Alabama at Birmingham.
