Motorists traveling east into the sunrise and west into the sunset have trouble seeing because of the sun. More bicycle and pedestrian accidents occur in this time period because people do not realize this danger. Pedestrians and bicyclists assume cars will stop for them, but in most cases, they are invisible to drivers. Take extra precaution when stepping or driving in front of oncoming traffic around sunset and sunrise because visibility is limited.
