MUSIC: FoCoMA awards FoCoMX bands at Aggie Theatre

This Sunday, in the aftermath of FoCoMX 2012, the Fort Collins Music Association will hold its FoCoMA Peer Awards Ceremony at the Aggie Theatre.

Red carpet and cocktails will start at 6 p.m., and the ceremony will begin at 7 p.m.

There will be live music throughout the night, and entry will be free to musicians and cost a $5 donation from the general public.

FoCoMA said, “Now that you’ve all had a chance to see a lot of the bands on the ballot play, we’d like as many musicians in town as possible to vote online for their favorites.”

LIFE: Testimonial T-shirts in Old Town Square

As part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, the Sexual Assault Victim Advocate Center will hold the Clothesline Project in Old Town Square all day Saturday.

Testimonial T-shirts will be hanging around Old Town.

“Created by survivors of sexual violence and their supporters, these shirts represent the journey of pain, survival, hope and empowerment,” according to ArtBeetFC.com.

ART: A love letter to Colorado

The Gallery Bleu at 401 Pine Street is currently showing “Paintings of Land and Sky: A Colorado Love Letter” by Joan Mangle.

“Joan’s oil paintings and giclees portray a strong connection with Colorado’s Front Range,” according to www.basbleu.org. “She has developed a strong sense of wonder of the land, mountains and sky.”

The gallery is open Friday from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. This show closes May 6, so be sure to visit it while it lasts. For more information go to www.basbleu.org.
