LARAMIE, Wyo.-The CSU menâ€™s basketball team fell at the hands of Wyoming and junior forward Leonard Washington on Saturday afternoon, 70-51.
Washington finished the game with 32 points and 14 rebounds and he put an exclamation mark on the win with a banked in three with under three minutes left to seal the win. He hit another three in the final minute before exiting the game to a standing ovation.
The Rams (13-5, 2-1 MW) were down 32-19 at the half.
After a turnover that led to an easy Wyoming (16-3, 2-1 MW) score to start the second half, coach Tim Miles called a timeout 23 seconds in and pulled starters Wes Eikmeier, Dorian Green, Greg Smith and Will Bell to try and spark the team.
CSU came out flat to start the game while Wyoming was fired up in front of an energetic home crowd.
Wyoming jumped to an early lead and were able to keep the score at or near double-digits for all of the first half.
At halftime Wyoming led 32-19 behind 13 points from Leonard Washington. CSU was led by 11 from Greg Smith at the half.
