Police are searching for the suspect of an armed robbery attempt at 9 p.m. on Tuesday in the Engineering Building parking lot.
The suspect reportedly pulled a gun on a male CSU student in the lot on the north side of campus. He was described as a white or Hispanic male with a husky build, according to a campus-wide email from the CSU Public Safety Team.
No shots were fired, according to CSU Spokesperson Brad Bohlander.
The man allegedly demanded the victim’s backpack, wallet and other belongings before leaving the scene.
He was last seen leaving through the intersection of Howes Street and Laurel Street in a dark green, older model van with a stripe of unknown color and an unknown license plate number. A female passenger was also reported to be in the van.
“He pulled out a gun and demanded his belongings, then got in the van and left,†Bohlander said.
Fort Collins Police Services is currently assisting in the case, according to Bohlander.
Anyone who may have seen the suspect or has any information on the incident is urged to call the CSU Police Department at 970-491-6425.
Sophomore journalism major Shelby Taylor Thorn waited at the CSU bus transit center shortly after the incident.
“It’s kind of disturbing,†she said.
