PVHS in critical need of blood donations

Poudre Valley Health System is in critical need of blood donations, especially those of O-negative and O-positive, according to a press release.

“PVHS would be grateful for any help you can give us in asking the public to donate blood to our blood centers in Fort Collins and Loveland,” said Kevin Darst, public relations specialist, in the release.

A donation process takes about 45 minutes, including the time filling out health history and consent forms.

To qualify for a donation, you must be 18 years or older, or 17 with parent’s permission and provide photo identification. New donors have to weight at least 120 pounds; prior donors must weight at least 110 pounds.

Seedstock being sold in joint sale

CSU’s student Seedstock Merchandising Team will hold a joint bull and female sale March 25-26.

The CSU Seedstock Team is compromised of eight undergraduate students who will participate in all aspects of the joint sale.

“The students become intricately involved with the production, management and sale of seedstock cattle produced by CSU,” said Jason Ahola, associate professor of Animal Sciences and team advisor in a press release.

CSU is partnering with Leachman Cattle of Colorado for the sale and will be selling 600 bulls and 100 females. For more information contact Ahola at 970-491-3312.
