CSU students win big at theatre festival
It may still be a few days before the Academy Awards but students from CSU’s theater program have already taken home major awards.
For the fourth consecutive year they have come home with recognition from the Regional Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.
The awards included the “Irene Ryan Acting Award,” “Best Lighting Design” and “The Mark Twain Award For Comedy.”
The award festival, which was held from Feb. 14 to 18 in Arcata, Calif., has more than 18,000 participants.
Here come the freshmen, CSU
This next year there will be more freshmen than ever.
After four years of growing numbers, CSU has seen a record high in student enrollment this year.
CSU has seen a total of 16,000 applications to-date. And despite decreasing high school graduate numbers there has been a 6 percent increase in in-state applications.
These numbers come after the application Feb. 1 deadline for freshmen.
This large applicant pool also includes 3,700 racially diverse students, or a 33 percent increase from last year.
