It is unfortunate to read what is otherwise a fairly well-written editorial in the Thursday Collegian, whereby a junior journalism major like Joe Vajgrt finds it necessary to resort to calling President Dwight D. Eisenhower an “uber-liberal commie pinko.â€
As a WWII veteran, I find it appalling to apply that tag to a successful five-star General and later president. Sure makes me wonder about the teaching to which Joe has been subjected, and it is scary to think that he may someday be writing as a journalist in our newspaper or other media industry.
He presented no useful, neither credible evidence for the name he attached to the general.
There is no place for such trash in the media.
