CSU Professor honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award

Dr. Steve Withrow, a professor of surgical oncology and founder and associate director of the CSU Animal Cancer Research Center, was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 30th Annual Veterinary Cancer Society conference.

Withrow is considered to be one of the founding fathers of veterinary oncology, and his teaching skills as well as surgical prowess were cited at the conference.

Withrow has been at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital since 1978. He is a Colorado State University Distinguished Professor, Stuart University Chair in Oncology and is the only veterinarian admitted as a member of the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society.

The Denver Nuggets are showing a little CSU appreciation tonight in their game against The Utah Jazz tonight at 8:30 p.m.

Alumni Association member tickets are $50 for VIP Club Level, which are normally $80 to $75 and $22.50 for upper center balcony, which are normally $39. Tickets include one food voucher and one medium Pepsi.

Professional vocal flair at CSU*

Tonight at the Organ Recital Hall at the University Center for the Arts, Andrew Whitfield will perform Franz Schubert’s song cycle “Winterreise,” a cycle of 24 poems by Wilhelm Muller. He is accompanied by Jessica Paul.

Whitfield, the assistant professor of music at Luther College, teaches studio voice and opera performance, and works as a performer, teacher and stage director.

Tickets are $7 for CSU students, $1 for youth ages 2 to 17 and $12 for adults.
