Following last week’s non-fatal campus shooting in the Summit Hall parking lot, CSU is looking to install additional lighting and security cameras to the area.

Amy Parsons, vice president for University Operations, worked with the Public Safety Committee and is in the process of obtaining bids for the job.

Though unsure of the timeline for installation, the university is committed to getting the extra safety measure in place, said Brad Bohlander, spokesman for the university.

The Summit Hall parking lot also features an emergency call box.

In the early hours of Sept. 8, police were notified of the shooting by the 21-year-old victim, who waited until he returned home to Broomfield to report the incident and did not seek medical attention for his arm wound.

The victim, who is not a CSU student, reported that the shooter approached him for drugs.
CSUPD has made progress in its investigation of the incident but is not able to release information at this time, Bohlander said.
