The Poudre Fire Authority is working hard to contain a fire that engulfed a building at Forney Industries, located at 1830 Laporte Avenue, just east of Taft Hill Road.

Witnesses reported the fire just before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday after hearing a loud noise and seeing pillar of black smoke pour into the sky.

PFA Captain Patrick Love said that, while there were no official numbers, a minimum of eight engines and 50 firefighters responded and are on scene.

The cause and origin of the fire could take weeks to investigate, Love said. He could confirm that, though witnesses might have heard a loud noise, there was no known explosion.

No injuries have been reported at this time.

Laporte Avenue is closed at the Grandview Avenue intersection.
