The CSU System Board of Governors voted unanimously to accept a search committee’s recommendation to appoint Becky Takeda-Tinker president of CSU-Global, the university’s online branch.

Having worked at CSU-Global since 2008 and currently the dean of Academics Affairs at CSU-Global, Takeda-Tinker has led publicly-held and private technology and service companies and has served as a private equity partner and financial services business owner, experience that other board members said made her stand out from other candidates for the position.

Her appointment will be effective after a 14-day public notice period, as stipulated in state statute, according to a press release from BOG spokesperson Michele McKinney. At this time, Takeda-Tinker is ready to take over and continue what she considers the mission of CSU-Global.

“This is an opportunity of a lifetime. I am excited to carry forward the board’s foresight to create Global
Campus, and its platform of affordable, convenient, accessible and high quality degree programs to enable
more nontraditional students to earn a degree,” she said, according to the same press release.

Takeda-Tinker has a doctoral degree from Capella University, an MBA in Finance from Santa Clara
University, a post-graduate certificate from the University of California-Berkeley and a bachelor’s in economics
from UCLA
