On Monday, the Collegian confirmed a news tip that AJ Hau, the captain of the CSU hockey team, was arrested for disorderly conduct during the team’s trip to Simsbury, Conn., for the ACHA Division II National Tournament.

According to the police report in an interview with Captain Matthew Catania of the Simsbury Police Department, Andrew Johannes Hau was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct on Friday, March 19 at 6:16 p.m. Eastern Time.

Catania said that approximately six minutes into the Rams’ game against William Paterson, a referee ejected Hau from the contest. Hau then “took a running start, allegedly throws a shoulder into the ref, slamming him into the boards.”

Hau was subsequently arrested at the International Skate Center of Connecticut and taken to Simsbury Police Headquarters for processing. He was held on a $250 bond and released later that night.

Check the Collegian Tuesday for a full story.
