Put on your game face, CSU

The Rams and Cowboys tip off a Mountain West Conference showdown in Moby Arena Saturday night at 7. CSU (13-9, 4-4 MWC) is fresh off a big road victory at Utah on Wednesday and has a chance to get above .500 in conference with a win over a struggling Pokes squad from Laramie.

Head coach Tim Miles and his team have exceeded expectations this season, positioning themselves at the conference halfway point for a possible postseason berth. But the Rams still need help.

Student attendance this year has been the best since Miles took over in 2007, including a sellout against CU-Boulder. Let’s do that again for the Border War on Saturday.

And while the team could use support, so could forward Travis Franklin who is in a slump when it comes to shooting free throws. He will get to the charity stripe, no doubt, against Wyoming, so when he’s shooting those free throws, instead of dead silence, how about a little cheer so he knows his fans are still behind him? A chant of “Travis, Travis … ” could serve well.

And remember, the Rams are wearing orange throwback Aggies uniforms against Wyoming, so in light of this temporary fashion statement, students are encouraged to also wear orange.

And don’t forget to say it: “I’m proud to be a CSU Ram.”
