Parking in Old Town tonight could cost you a pretty penny if you don’t move your car in time for snow removal.
Snow removal operations on roads north of campus and throughout downtown will begin at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night and continue until 7 a.m. Wednesday morning.
From midnight to 3 a.m., vehicles in the way of plowing downtown will be relocated, but after 3 a.m., they will be towed at the owner’s expense, said Lonnie Welborn, administrative support for the city’s Streets Department.
“The signage downtown doesn’t allow us to tow until three,” Welborn said, adding that tonight’s parking closures are the first since early in 2007. By 3 a.m. people should be able to “get where they need to be,” she said.
