Uprooted from its home above Horsetooth Reservoir the Aggie “A” and Horsetooth Mountain will overlook the streets of Fort Collins this afternoon from the back of a pickup truck.
Placed there by Greek Life’s green team, the paper mache Horsetooth Mountain and subsequent wooden “A” will decorate just one of the many floats to tour the city as part of the 2009 Homecoming Parade.
The Greek Life office created seven float teams this year — each with the help of a minimum of three houses — to design a float for the parade.
The green team is comprised of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority, the Kappa Sigma fraternity, the Delta Sigma Phi sorority and the Nu Alpha Kappa fraternity.
The idea for the green team’s float, which stems from this year’s homecoming theme “Celebrating the Past, Building the Future,” was a combination of ideas from each house, French said.
“Everybody’s ideas for the float were awesome. It was even more exciting when we decided to combine them, and everybody was willing to compromise.” French said. “I think it says a
