Dignity please, even in humor
Recently, I have noticed the cartoon of Repeat/Delete depicting women and people who are transgender in an inappropriate light.
Though I realize students wish to be humorous with this cartoon, sending messages that women must be thin or that someone who is transgender is threatening is wrong. Every person on this campus is given dignity and worth by their Creator because He made all of us.
When writers, cartoonists or other staff members publish material that is degrading to a person or group of people, it is taking away this inherent dignity. This is very disrespectful.
I ask the Collegian to please consider how its staff can provide humor without hurting any student. This honors God and our fellow human beings. Thank you very much.
