The CSU men’s basketball team will conclude its preseason schedule this Saturday, hosting Adams State Grizzlies. Tip off is set for 7 p.m. in Moby Arena.
The Rams won their first exhibition game against Chadron State last Monday, 94-78.
Returning point guard Willis Garder and small forward Andre McFarland each picked up 18 points for the Rams in that win.
“It’s a starting point,” head coach Tim Miles said after the Chadron State game. “I thought tonight our guys did a good job because it was the first competitive environment of the season. We saw things that we can’t replicate in practice, and our guys handled it well. It’s a good barometer of where we are at. Now it’s up to us to go and get better.”
Newcomer Harvey Perry, who started for the Rams and is scheduled to start again this weekend, picked up nine points in the win, along with four rebounds and a couple of impressive assists. CSU begins regular season play on Nov. 14 at home against Montana.
The Rams open their regular season with five consecutive home games before traveling to San Francisco on Nov. 29.
