John Lincoln, former CSU executive vice-president and CSU President Larry Penley’s No. 2, relinquished his contract Friday and permanently terminated his relationship with the university, a CSU spokesperson confirmed Saturday.
“(Lincoln) voluntarily terminated his contract, with no payments having been processed,” said Brad Bohlander, CSU’s chief spokesperson.
Penley, who had announced Lincoln’s transition into “semi-retirement” last month, had intended to hire Lincoln on a contractual basis with the university. Lincoln’s contract detailed that he was to continue his work in the Public Affairs department at $10,000 a month.
Bohlander said he received word from the CSU General Council that Lincoln had abandoned his contract last night and that he had no details regarding Lincoln’s reasons for doing so.
Lincoln has not yet been reached for comment.
