Denver – A man was arrested in Civic Center park today following a confrontation between separate protest groups at the Democratic National Convention.
Carlo Garcia, a protester with the pro-DNC group “Recreate ’68” was removed from the crowd of protesters by five police officers following a brief altercation with a religious protest group in the area.
“They tackled him to the ground and arrested him for no f****** reason,” said Glenn Fpagnuolo, leader of Recreate ’68 and political science student at CU-Denver.
Garcia was reportedly yelling at the group the “Organized Street Preachers” before his arrest. Close to 70 police officers on foot and on horseback blockaded the two crowds from each other following Garcia’s removal from the area.
