The CSU softball team begins a five-game, six-day home stand today at 3 p.m. with a make-up game against in-state rival Northern Colorado.
The Rams (20-15, 1-4 MWC) are looking to finish off a three-game season series sweep of the Bears (9-30) in a game that was postponed last week because of bad weather.
Coach Mary Yori’s team is coming off a disappointing weekend in Albuquerque, N.M., in which they lost a pair of conference games to the University of New Mexico by a combined score of 19-5.
UNC is coming off a pair of wins against Western Nebraska Community College on April 8. The Rams took both games of a double-header against UNC in Greeley on March 29.
CSU’s offense, which scores the second-most runs in the Mountain West with 5.6 per game, tied a season-best with 18 runs against the Bears game 2 of that double-header.
After today, the Rams will host conference foes UNLV and San Diego State this weekend.
The Rams will play a double-header against the Rebels Friday starting at 1:30 p.m. Games against SDSU are scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at noon.
This weekend’s conference games are critical for the Rams, as they currently have a league-worst one MWC win this year.
