The Mountain West men’s and women’s basketball preseason media polls were announced Wednesday and if they are any indication of the upcoming hoops season, then it’s going to be a long winter for both CSU programs.

The men, who return only two players and one starter (senior center Stuart Creason), were picked to finish last in the nine-team conference.

The prognosis for the women’s team wasn’t much better, as coach Jen Warden’s squad was picked eighth, ahead of only Air Force.

Neither team had any players named to the preseason all-conference team, either.

Brigham Young was picked to repeat as champions on the men’s side while Wyoming is favored to win the women’s conference.
