I’m not a hippie, I’m not a conservative extremist, nor am I really any form of political activist.
I have my political leanings just as everyone, which I try to rationalize as what I believe to be best for the nation.
However, this recent occurrence at the University of Florida seems to have struck a chord with me as well as a seemingly large sect of America, based on the enormous instant attention granted by both the mainstream and Internet media.
Since when does simply asking – granted a long-winded and perhaps uncomfortable – a question deserve such violence and brutality?
For those who haven’t paid attention to any number of possible media outlets in the last 24 hours, a video of the ordeal can be seen on YouTube.
I’m not going to turn this into a political rant or any number of emotionally driven subversion techniques used so often today, I just ask is this America still?
