Kicking off this year’s Thunder in the Rockies motorcycle rally at the Larimer County Fairgrounds, or The Ranch, is none other than one of Comedy Central’s most controversial comedians. Carlos Mencia and opening act Josh Blue will take the stage at 7 p.m. Friday.
Mencia, whose show “Mind of Mencia” focuses on racial and ethnic stereotypes and discrimination as well as pop culture news, will be welcomed to The Ranch with high hopes as the headlining act for the four-day event.
“Comedy has always been very strong for the rally,” said DeeDee Smidt, campus wide events manager for The Ranch in a statement. “This year we have one of the hottest touring comedians in the country for the rally.”
His Loveland appearance is only one stop on his national tour with Blue, a Denver comedian who recently reigned victorious on Last Comic Standing and landed a spot on Mencia’s show despite living with Cerebral Palsy.
Whether it’s the roaring engines of bikes that bring you to The Ranch this weekend or a couple hours of rip-roaring comedy, Loveland is where it’s at Labor Day weekend.
Tickets are still available at ComcastTix.com, the online Budweiser Events
Center Box Office.
