The spring snow that hit Fort Collins last weekend may have not been severe enough to disrupt the average student’s plans, but it was enough to shut down the Ram softball team’s conference opener.
The scheduled doubleheader with the New Mexico Lobos was initially postponed and then later canceled when the weather did not turn, leaving the Rams with another week to wait for their first conference game.
The Rams will make up their games with the Lobos when CSU travels to Albuquerque on May 11 and 12, playing four games instead of the scheduled two.
CSU currently holds the third best record in the Mountain West at 21-18 and were picked to finish fifth in the conference.
Weather permitting, the Rams will open conference play this Friday when they host the San Diego State Aztecs in a double header at Ram Field. The Aztecs were picked to win the conference in preseason polls, and currently have a 24-15 record.
First pitch in that game is set for 1:30 p.m.
