PLAY OF THE DAY

Eric Weddle came into the game known as a shutdown corner, but CSU wide receiver Luke Roberts apparently didn’t believe the hype. Roberts burned Weddle on a single move for a 51-yard touchdown reception midway through the second quarter to bring the Rams within one score.

COLLEGIAN GAME BALL GOES TO.

Quarterback Caleb Hanie – Hanie may have thrown two picks and had more interceptions than touchdowns thrown against the Utes, but it was the strength of his legs that kept the Rams in the game longer than they should have been. Hanie ran for 75 yards, tied for the highest single game rushing output for the season with Gartrell Johnson III’s effort against the Air Force Falcons.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

” We missed things today.” – Offensive coordinator Dan Hammerschmidt using four words to sum up Saturday’s game. If Hammerschmidt would have changed the word “today” to the words “this season,” nobody would blink an eye.

TEN DOWN.TWO TO GO

It is guaranteed that the Rams (4-6, 1-5) will not extend their losing streak next weekend. That is because CSU has a bye week for the first time since the week of Sept. 23. The team returns to action Nov. 25 to take on the Texas Christian Horned Frogs (7-2, 3-2) at home.
