I am very disappointed with CSU’s method for distributing tickets to this year’s CU/CSU football game. It’s pretty much impossible for two students to get tickets next to each other. Whatever happened to the ritual of camping out and waiting all day for tickets? I hope CSU will better think through the ticketing system for the next CU/CSU game. The students are the ones who are getting screwed.

I supported and voted for Referendum C last November because I believed our state was drastically underfunding programs in health and education.

CSU President Larry Penley even stated in his 2005 fall address that a vote for Referendum C was a vote for investment in higher education.

Yet in an article entitled “Extreme Makeover: CSU Edition” in the July 12 Collegian, the paper reported that Referendum C money would be used in part to fund the landscaping taking place on the Plaza. Are all the other problems fixed? Have we brought down class sizes and secured tenure for excellent professors? Have we reduced tuition and made college more affordable?

I’m sure the renovated Plaza will be very nice. But as a voter, a taxpayer and a student, those seem to take priority over a landscaping project.
