Sean Morris, a sophomore guard from Katy, Texas, left the men’s basketball team.
Early Tuesday afternoon head coach Dale Layer said Morris told him that he intends on transferring schools and continuing his career somewhere else, according to a CSU athletics release.
Calls to Dale Layer and Sean Morris went unreturned Tuesday afternoon.
Sean Morris played in 30 of the team’s 31 games this season, starting only five. He averaged 8.6 points per game in 18 minutes, with 44 assists and 30 steals on the year.
Morris continues a trend of players that have left the program in recent years. Last year Steven Verwers, Phillip Thomasson and Dwight Boatner left.
“I want to thank Sean for his contributions to our program the past two seasons,” Layer said in the release. “Everyone associated with our program wishes him the best of luck in the future.”
