In response to Jennifer Walton’s letter
In the Oct. 3 letters, Jennifer Walton wants to do you and me a favor by "pointing out" that "what you choose for yourself is what is right for you." She goes on to claim that if somebody happens to choose a different religion than you, they're "different," not wrong.
Despite the fact that the relativism espoused by Walton is self-defeating, she blithely dismisses absolute truth in the name of diversity and tolerance. Of course, if I have the audacity to disagree with her, I'm not just "different", I'm intolerant, and that can't be tolerated now, can it?
I have to wonder if Walton would be willing to consistently live out her view by giving people like Hitler and Stalin a pass on the basis that they simply did what was right in their own minds.
