It's unfortunate to hear that some of the fraternities and sororities on CSU's campus participated in a ritual that included drinking alcohol in excessive amounts. I know there are a lot of fine individuals in the Greek system. I believe that this is an administrative issue and they will deal with it appropriately.
It is incidents such as this that only strengthen our resolve to educate all students on the dangers of alcohol. The attitude and behavior towards alcohol is a problem with many students on campuses nationwide. I believe CSU has taken many measures to heighten awareness to this problem and prevent another tragedy from occurring.
Every student, regardless if they are Greek or not, has the choice of being part of the problem or part of the solution. They all can help to create change by knowing the laws, knowing their limits, and knowing the loss they may potentially incur. The loss may be as simple as losing privileges or losing their fraternity, but I pray it's not another life.
