Because of the snowstorm that fell upon CSU Wednesday and Thursday, the women's softball team was unable to complete its scheduled games this weekend against Brigham Young and Utah.
These games were important for CSU in trying to catch BYU and UNLV at the top of the conference.
Because of the way that the Mountain West Conference schedules games, there is no time for teams to schedule make-up games, so the Rams will next look forward to playing at UNLV on Friday.
"We're really disappointed that we couldn't play this weekend," said sophomore pitcher Jessica Strickland. "It makes it more important that we take care of business against UNLV, so we have a chance to get a bye in the first round of the conference tournament."
CSU (29-16, 8-4 MWC) sits in third place behind BYU at 14-2 in conference and UNLV at 11-3.
The Rams will travel to Las Vegas and San Diego this weekend to finish up the rest of their conference schedule before the conference tournament begins on May 12 in San Diego.
