The CSU men's golf team concluded its season with a fifth-place finish at the Mountain West Conference Championships in Sunriver, Ore., over the weekend.
New Mexico won the tournament for the third year in a row.
Junior Nate Pettitt finished with the best score for the Rams and a personal season best score of 218, earning him a tie for ninth.
Junior Kevin McAlpine tied for 18th after shooting a 221, and sophomore Derrick Whiting took 25th with a score of 224.
Senior John Hayes finished the three-round tournament with a score of 225 and tying for 26th while sophomore Aaron Weston tied for 34th place with a score of 232.
McAlpine was the lone Ram selected to the All-Conference Team. He finished the season with four top-10 finishes and led the Rams with the lowest stroke average.
UNLV sophomore Ryan Moore was selected as Player of the Year for the second straight time, while UNLV's Jarred Texter was named Freshman of the Year. Coach of the year honors went to Glen Millican of New Mexico.
The Rams are now waiting for an invitation to the NCAA West Regional Tournament May 19-21. If the Rams qualify, it will be their 10th-consecutive appearance.
