The April 5 city election will be conducted by mail ballot. There will be
no polling places. Ballots will be mailed on or before March 21 to all active,
registered voters residing within the Fort Collins city limits. To be an active
voter, residents must have voted in the November 2004 presidential election.
* The following races/issues will be on the ballot:
o District 1 City Council member
o District 3 City Council member
o District 5 City Council member
o Ballot Issue No. 1 – repeal of the sales tax on grocery food
o Ballot Issue No. 2 – elimination of fluoride in the water
o Ballot Issue No. 3 — extending an existing 0.25 percent sales and use tax for the street-maintenance program
* Voters may return their ballots by mail (postage is required) or deliver them to the City Clerk's Office at 300 LaPorte Ave. All ballots must be received in the
City Clerk's Office no later than 7 p.m. on Election Day (April 5) in order to be counted. Ballots returned by mail and postmarked on April 5 cannot be counted unless they are received by the city clerk prior to 7 p.m. on Election Day.
* All ballots will be counted in the City Clerk's Office and results are expected sometime after 8 p.m. on Election Day.
