Two records were broken this weekend in the last indoor track meet before the NCAA Championships.
The CSU track and field team sent five players to compete in the Alex Wilson Invitational hosted by Notre Dame.
Senior John Woods took first in the 60 meter and rewrote a school record. Woods ran a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 6.63 and broke his own record of 6.66 from earlier this season. Woods is ranked as one of top five nationally for this season. He tied the Mountain West Conference record held by Kenneth Andam of Brigham Young from 2000.
Senior Mike Nicks broke the school record in the 3000 meters and placed third while clocking in a NCAA provisional qualifying time. Nicks broke the school record that was held by Bryan Berryhill from 2001. His time is ranked in the top 20 in the nation for this season.
Junior Jill McCormick earned a third-place finish in the weight throw with a throw of 61-7.
Senior Josh Glaab finished 14th in the 3000. Junior Danielle Korb came in eighth in the mile.
The Rams will find out who earned the privilege of advancing to the NCAA Championships in Arkansas this week.
