CSU volleyball player Hillary White has been dismissed from the team, head coach Tom Hilbert announced in a press release Thursday.

White, a freshman who redshirted last season, was dismissed for violating unspecified team rules.

The CSU athletic department stated in the release that it could not specify the violation because of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), which protects the privacy of student's education records.

FERPA provides certain rights to a student's educational records to his/her parents. These rights are transferred to students who are at least 18-years-old or attend a school beyond high school, according to the U.S. Department of Education Web site.

White was a middle block/outside hitter for CSU. She was named South Dakota High School Gatorade Player of the Year and led her team to back-to-back state volleyball titles in high school.
