Former CSU quarterback Bradlee Van Pelt signed a three-year contract with the Denver Broncos this week.
Van Pelt, who played on the Broncos' practice squad last year, signed the deal after finalizing an association with an agent, according to The Denver Post. He was Denver's final practice squad player to re-sign from last year.
"I think I can develop with the Broncos," Van Pelt told the Post. "I'm really happy to be back."
Van Pelt is expected to compete with Matt Mauck, also a Broncos' 2004 seventh-round draft pick, for the team's No. 3 quarterback position.
Van Pelt came to CSU in 2000 after transferring from Michigan State. He got his first start for the Rams at quarterback midway through the 2001 season and was a starter until he entered the draft after the 2003 season.
He was named Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Year and was selected to the conference's first team offense two years in a row.
