The volunteers who operate RamRide will be working tonight, just as they have every school weekend for the past semester. But tonight is special: it's RamRide's Thursday debut. For the first time, CSU's safe ride program will venture out on a weeknight.

RamRide Director Brian Hardouin has worked during the winter break to make sure the first Thursday will be a success. He urged members of the Associated Students of CSU to volunteer tonight.

"We've got free food, free pop, and a good time," he announced to the ASCSU

Senate Wednesday night.

Initially, Thursday-night RamRide will be operating five vehicles from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., instead of the program's usual ???. Thursday night operation is limited because of concerns over volunteer availability, one of the program's primary limitations. Fortunately, Hardouin said, enough volunteers are registered to run tonight's program successfully.

"We've got all the volunteers for this Thursday, so we're excited," he said.

ASCSU voted in December to make expand RamRide, citing student support for the extended hours of operation. Accordingly, Hardouin urged ASCSU members to volunteer for Thursday night operations. He also urged students to take advantage of Thursday night service.

"This program was expanded because students wanted it," he said. "Please use it. Please volunteer."
