The CSU Police Department is investigating a case of arson after
two trashcans were set on fire in two men’s bathrooms in the Clark
Building’s A- and C-wings Thursday just after 4:30 p.m.
“It looks like it probably was intentional, since they both
happened at the same time,” said Sgt. Ed Bozic of the CSUPD.
The fires in the men’s bathrooms occurred on the second floor in
Clark A-wing and the third floor in C-wing. The contents of the
trashcans were lit on fire, and the cans melted down, Bozic
The fires were contained to the trashcans and nothing else was
damaged, according to Poudre Fire Authority.
A janitor found the first fire after reports of a burning smell
from the men’s bathroom in A-wing. The bathrooms required
ventilation, but the fire was not severe, according to PFA.
