The cross country teams continued their success by both

finishing in the top ten of the Pre-NCAA meet at Indiana State on

Saturday. The men’s team finished seventh in their 8,000-meter race

and the women placed tenth in their 6,000-meter run.

The men’s team once again had an impressive showing, placing

seventh overall with senior Mike Nicks leading the team by placing

24th with a time of 24:31.4. Junior Josh Glaab was right behind him

in 32nd place and junior Matt Cianciulli finished in 45th place.

Junior Paul Michel and senior Rob Watson also contributed with 59th

and 112th place finishes respectively.

“We did really well this weekend,” Glaab said. “We based our

races off of each other and a lot of guys did a great job.”

The women’s team also had a top-10 finish, placing 10th in the

meet. Junior Nicole Feest again led the ladies team with a

22nd-place finish and a time of 21:10.6. Freshman Heather Loseke

came up big with a 43rd-place finish, while senior Michelle Carman

ended in 64th place. Rounding out the scoring for the women were

seniors Colleen Blair and Rebekah Yetzer, who finished 91st and

120th, respectively.

“We improved this week as a team,” Blair said. “Our five and six

runners did better and we are happy with our performance.”

Colorado won the women’s team race and Stanford took the men’s

competition.

CSU will now compete in the Mountain West Conference

Championship in San Diego on Oct. 30.

“Now that we’ve done really well in the pre-NCAAs, there won’t

be as much pressure on us at the MWC Championships,” Glaab

said.
