Glen Spaulding, the associate director of Laboratory Animal Resources, died Sunday.
According to Donald Maul, a colleague of Spaulding and director of the laboratory, Spaulding died of a heart attack while skiing with family at Copper Mountain Ski Resort.
A memorial service commemorating his life will be held Saturday. The service will be held at Horan and McConaty Funeral Home in Denver.
Spaulding has been with the laboratory since January.
“He was instrumental with getting us prepared for the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care credentials visits,” Maul said. “He was an enjoyable person, always with a laugh, a joke and a smile. His absence will be greatly missed as a friend and as a colleague. The faculty relied on him for support, it is going to be hard to fill that position.”
The family of Glen Spaulding asks that donations be made to CSU’s James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
