The Board of Governors for the CSU System will decide today at a meeting in Pueblo what to do about Pat Broe and Connie Calaway, two candidates for open positions on the board.
Gov. Bill Owens appointed Broe and Calaway to the two positions and the state Senate confirmed the appointments in a narrow 18-16 vote. However, the board will not necessarily follow the Senate’s decision, said Reginald Washington, president of the board.
Some people believe the nominees have tainted the selection process for the CSU presidential position by supporting Owens’ technology adviser, Marc Holtzman, to replace President Albert C. Yates when Yates retires in June.
The board has not allowed Broe and Calaway to take their seats until it reaches a final decision on the matter.
