Odell Brewing Company released Amuste Saturday afternoon with a party full of cupcakes and local food trucks, live music and — of course — beer.

“It’s an imperial porter aged with Tempranillo grapes grown on the western slope, and we’ve also aged it in red wine barrels” said Eli Kolodny, the quality control manager at Odell Brewing Co. who developed the idea surrounding Amuste.

12-year-old Jessa Salvador is battling leukemia for the second time.

One of the toughest things besides the chemo and side effects is that I don’t get to go to school, said Jessa.

On Monday evening, she got a chance to come back to the classroom, where she gave a presentation about her experience with leukemia to a class of CSU freshman honors students.

About 70% of people in need of a bone marrow transplant do not have a donor-match within their family. Jessa is one of this 70%. While she is currently not seeking a bone marrow treatment, this may become a possibility in the future.

Read more about Jessa’s story or how to become a bone match donor.

Republican voters packed the Ptarmigan country club ballroom this evening for the 2012 Larimer County Republican watch party.

In his opening speech, congressional republican candidate Kevin Lundberg noted the achievements of the many involved in his 2012 campaign, especially the efforts made through online and social media outlets.

Said Lundberg:

“If I win tonight, we win tonight.”

According to Debbie Haley, campaign manager for Lundberg, the campaign also owes a lot to CSU students who volunteered and worked through the campaign cycle.
