The Rams were able to quickly dispose of conference foe New Mexico on Thursday, defeating them in straight sets (25-20, 25-23, 25-14).
Coach Hilbert stressed the importance of getting more production out of his middle blockers before the match, and the Rams were able to get that on Thursday.
Led by the play of middle blockers Brieon Paige, Megan Plourde, and Tori Brummett, who all hit at or above .333 in the match, the Rams made quick work of UNM at home.
New Mexico was once again led by the play of Ashley Rhoades, who had 10 kills to propel her to a .500 hitting percentage on the night.
The victory kicks off the start of a big weekend for the Rams, who will welcome Texas Christian University to Moby arena on Saturday at 12 p.m. for another Mountain West Conference clash.
