Lesley DiMare, the interim president of Nevada State College, was voted unanimously by the CSU Board of Governors Wednesday morning to fill CSU-Pueblo’s presidential post, a search that has lasted since former CSU-Pueblo Joe Garcia was elected lieutenant-governor.

System Chancellor Joe Blake has said that he will step down once the CSU-Pueblo presidential post is filled.

DiMare was one of three candidates for the position, which included Michael Driscoll, provost and executive vice president of the University of Alaska-Anchorage, and Karla Hughes, the provost and vice president for academic affairs at Morehead State University.

She will be the sixth CSU-Pueblo president in the past decade.
