Little shop of honors
Brian Jones, a CSU physics instructor, founded the Little Shop of Physics in 1991 to demonstrate the excitement and interest of science. It was announced Thursday that he will win the Robert A. Millikan Medal from the American Association of Physics Teachers.
Jones will receive the award during the 2011 American Association of Physics Teachers summer meeting in Omaha July 30 through Aug. 3. The award honors educators who make creative contributions to teaching physics.
Made up of mostly undergraduate students, Little Shop of Physics finds ways to open a diverse range of students up to science in a hands-on way. The program acts as a resource to K-12 teachers in Colorado.
