As part of today’s I Love CSU Day Proclamation made by Gov. Hickenlooper, the university has designated the month of April as “Celebrate Colorado State†month devoted to recognizing the achievements of the campus community in the past year.
Declared every year by the Colorado governor as an official state holiday, I Love CSU Day allows proud Rams to show their love and celebrate all things CSU.
Put on yearly by the Student Alumni Connection, today will mark the event’s 10-year anniversary.
SAC, founded in 1995, is the student branch of the Alumni Association, encourages students to be more integrated with the alumni who came before them.
SAC will host today’s festivities from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Lory Student Center Plaza.
Students can stop by the event for CSU giveaways, trivia and a photo op with Cam the Ram. Prizes will be also given for the most spirited students.
Michelle Stout, president of SAC, said she’s excited to help run and organize her fourth and final I Love CSU Day celebration.
“It’s really fun to hear all the different reasons why students love CSU,†Stout said.
A board will be set up for students to write why they love CSU. At 11:50 a.m. SAC will have a most-spirited contest awarding prizes to die-heart CSU fans.
If students can’t attend the event, they can look out for prizes placed around campus. RAMdom acts of kindness will give students a prize just for being a student as part of today’s celebrations.
Also as a part of the celebrations, Ram Quest: Operation I Love CSU Day will give students the opportunity to test their CSU trivia knowledge. From 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. students can go to CSU’s Facebook page for the daily Ram Quest question. One hundred students will win prizes for mastering the special I Love CSU Day Ram Quest challenge.
