A Fort Collins SWAT team was dispatched this afternoon to recover a possible teenage hostage allegedly being held and beaten by her boyfriend.

Fort Collins Police were dispatched at 1:13 p.m. after the victim’s friend told police she received a text from the victim saying she was being held and beaten.

The 15-year-old girl was not found, and SWAT and FCPS officers left the scene at around 3:45 p.m. At least 12 SWAT, police and unmarked police cars were at 2013 W. Plum St. where they were investigating the tip.

SWAT and police said they believe the victim is in a vehicle on the move. SWAT Lieutenant Cory Christiansen said SWAT was done looking for the girl but was unaware what FCPS would do.

This is not the first time the apartment complex has experienced high police activity. Neighbor Sherice Mariani said the area surrounding the complex has been raided five times in the past five months.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released, but police say the boyfriend is several years older.
