CSU student Eric Spry appears to have died Friday from natural causes.
Larimer County Deputy Corner James MacNaughton said Sunday that the cause and manner of Spry’s death are not yet known pending further tests, but pneumonia is suspected. MacNaughton said there is no indication meningitis or meningococcal disease contributed to the death.
An outbreak of meningococcal disease has plagued Fort Collins and CSU since this summer, killing four Fort Collins residents, including one CSU student.
Spry, a sophomore health and exercise sciences major, was transported on Friday afternoon from his room in Braiden Hall to Poudre Valley Hospital where he died a few hours later. The 19-year-old was from Edwards.
