Colorado’s hotbed of political campaigns and elections left little to the imagination in the wake of last year’s election cycle.

A fiercely contested senatorial seat, along with many seats in the House left up for grabs, made for an enticing election.

Michael Bennet reclaimed his incumbency with 47.7 percent of the popular vote over Republican opponent Ken Buck. Cory Gardner took the 4th Congressional District seat away from Democratic incumbent Betsy Markey with 53.1 percent of total votes.

Election Day Nov. 2, 2010, marked victory for Governor John Hickenlooper, who won in a landslide over Tom Tancredo with 50.7 percent of all votes, and Larimer County Sheriff Justin Smith beat Democratic opponent Jim Harrison with 52.02 percent of the popular vote.
